After his 2 week boarding school. I  took Coco to Ace Hardware with me and for a 12 week old puppy did really well… Of course I had treats on my hip, but that's beside the point he paid attention to me. Our puppy is a 4 month old mini Goldendoodle and was in the puppy training program for 2 weeks. Lisa did a great job training her to respond immediately to the word “no”. She also got her to walk on the leash better. When we picked her up Lisa reviewed the training and how we were to go forward to keep her training commands going so that she wouldn’t forget them. When my large breed puppy hit adolescence and started to eat rocks for fun, I knew I needed professional support to help keep us both safe, happy, and stress free. Hunter and his team were incredibly supportive, understanding, and professional throughout the entire process. My puppy stayed with them for six weeks for their advanced off leash board and train program. During that time he learned new skills, strengthened ones he already knew, and became a well behaved boy. I can now trust him to respond appropriately to my commands when meeting new people, in emergencies, and surrounded by distractions - on leash or off. One thing I love about H. K. Dog Training is their lifetime support. It’s comforting to know that if I ever need some additional support or boarding in the future, they’re just a text away. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone with a pup, it was worth every penny.  The only thing I wish I had done differently was call them sooner. We have been a tried and true HK Dog Training family since the week we brought home our puppy. We adopted a stubborn ball of love and energy with our golden retriever Gracie. We have tried almost all the services Hunter has to offer and genuinely can’t say enough good things. When Gracie was a puppy she went to his two week puppy board and train and she came back completely potty trained, crate trained, and knew all her basic commands- it was literally amazing and eliminated a lot of the hard parts of puppyhood. We had 4 accidents in the house in the entirety of her puppy life and she has never cried in her crate. It was like magic. A year later we realized our crazy little girl Gracie was developing some bad habits with barking, being reactive towards house guests, poor leash manners, and not listening when called. We called Hunter and he welcomed her back with open arms for the 6 week off leash board and train program. The results from this program were so monumental for us I wish I could write 1000 five star reviews. Gracie is now a DREAM on her leash. She knows how to go right to her place when we have guests and she is so much less reactive- especially to things like the Amazon guy, the doorbell, etc. Her recall is incredible. If I call her from across the dog park while she is chasing a ball she completely stops on a dime and follows my call. As the weaker dog parent that she used to take advantage of and be naughty with- I am so so so grateful for this change. Now that Grace has completed her training she boards with Hunter when we are out of town. I never have a single worry about her while we are gone. I know she’s loved, cared for, and held accountable to her training. Hunter is kind, patient, and explained how to continue her training at home every step of the way- we are so grateful for his hard work. He’s reasonably priced and worth every single penny. I would spend it ten times over to experience this amazing change in our dog. She is still her amazing, loving, playful self-  but with rules and boundaries she knows very well to respect. Hunter was an absolute godsend for me and my wife. About a year ago we got a brand new puppy and we’re totally overwhelmed. We felt like we were drowning and reached out to Hunter. He put our pup in a 2 week board and train puppy class to teach her the basics of crate training, commands and potty training. It made a world of difference, but as she grew up and got into adolescence and had her first heat she developed some AWFUL leash manners, territorial aggression (freaking out when people came into our home) and resource guarding. So we reached out again to have her go through his intensive 6 week off leash board and train program. Let me just say, worth every single penny. If you’re on the fence at all DO IT…when I say that the dog we picked up was light years ahead of the dog we dropped off I mean it. She now is so incredibly perfect on the leash, she knows to sit in her place when someone rings the door bell, her resource guarding is basically non existent. Hunter trained her using an E Collar which some have a fear of but trust me when I say, it’s on an extremely low setting (I’ve tested it on my own hand) and we barely even have to use it because she’s so well behaved. You can tell that Hunter and his wife truly take pride in their work/business and I would trust him with any dog or breed.  He is extremely diligent not just with his training of the dogs, but relating it so the owners can retain what he’s implemented and put it into practice. My wife and I are beyond thankful for his hard work and dedication with our pup, and are also so happy we have a trustworthy place to board her when we go on vacation or out of town. I cannot say enough about my experience with Lisa and Hunter!  My 5 month old mini Aussie was loved, cared for, and well trained after his 2-weeks with Lisa.  She kept me informed on his progress through videos and texts and was always just a phone call away.  My puppy is now a joy to walk and follows the basic commands that has made puppyhood safe AND manageable for a 72 year old owner.  She and Hunter have given me so many tips on maintaining the training and their expertise is proven through their many satisfied dog owners.  My pup had a recent hiccup interacting with other dogs and Lisa made a home visit on a Saturday to help me and my pup work through it.  Yes, you read that right!  She is remarkable. Ecstatic!!! Met with Hunter today for an evaluation and am completely confident this is the right place for my RainDrop...I saw a drastic improvement from her just within a few minutes...Hunter is calm,  caring, confident and completely knowledgeable...he gave me a sense of peace! In the days leading up to this, Lisa had been completely available for my questions and concerns... going above and beyond, allowing me to vent my frustrations even, furthermore she told me I may reach out with any concerns between now and our enrollment time...the grounds are quite impressive too... I'm extremely happy I've chosen H.K. Dog Training for their Puppy Board and Train Program... and the best part is I will be trained to... this is a team effort... I'll then have the knowledge I need to continue instilling the lessons we've learned...we look forward to joining their program soon...off to a fabulous start and going the distance for a lifetime of happiness! Hunter worked an actual miracle on our two mini doxies. Absolute menaces outside the house with other dogs, people, and cars. Barked uncontrollably with strangers inside the house. We can now take them to the beach, the brewery and they are very polite. They will place in the house when people walk in the door. Incredible work and makes all of our lives better.
